During my sophomore year at SUNY Poly, I applied for an open designer position at The Factory Times, the official magazine of the college. I figured that it would be an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the art of information design.

Near the end of my sophomore semester, I was asked if I wanted to take over the position of Lead Designer for next year. Of course I had to say yes! This is where I first started using Adobe InDesign, to assemble all the designs everyone made, produce the front and back covers, and create brand new table of contents & staff pages.

The semester after writing this, I'm slated to be the Publication Director of The Factory Times. That means I will be running all operations and representing the team as the leader of the organization.

Whiteboard Polls

The Factory Times used to poll students in the library using an open whiteboard. In designing the results, I started to incorporate my friends doodles in the corners of the whiteboards before I took pictures of them. I went for more of an acryllic style than a marker style.
